Biomes are areas with specific environmental characteristics spread by particular plant species. The degree to which a biome is present in an area also affects which plants and animals will survive and thrive there.

Other factors, such as Altitude or whether there are Stones in an area can also impact which plants grow (and, in turn, which animals may survive), but Biomes are critical to the foundation supporting life in Equilinox.
